The Iron Acres Railroad has moved, yep that's right we moved...the old location is no more and we are now located in Wrightstown, NJ. (Across from the entrance to Ft. Dix) We now have 8+ acres of land to rebuild on. It will be a challanging task as we have hills and valleys to contend with. A survey has been done and a plan has been drawn to construct the railroad in 4 phases. When complete we should have between 4,100 to 4,600 feet of main line. All curves will be 60' radius. Planning is in the works for an extensive Gauge 1 ("G" Gauge) layout as well, if you are a garden railroader come on down . 3 or 4 300' routes are planned. We have erected a new 48' x 64' shop building complete with casting and pattern storage areas as well as a large shop area. Finish grading of the land around the building is being done and we are working on installing the new 3 phase electric service. Track building has commenced and we hope to start clearing land for layout work shortly. There is still plenty for all to do from the experienced machinist and live steamer to the beginer. Remeber, you do not need to own a train to be apart of the fun. We are a small group, not a formal club and are not open to the general public. We meet on Monday nights from 5pm to 9 pm.
